Initially conceived as a Mission Style home, the owner expressed a desire for a unique style of southwest mission and hacienda styles combined. This arose from a need for more visual variety and a wider diversity of spaces than traditional Mission Style often creates. As a solution, Centre Sky Architecture proposed what has become the new design concept for the Dillon Residence.
After reviewing traditional architecture of the Visigoth’s in Spain as an alternative, we were inspired by the way historic builders very often drew inspiration from an assortment of pre-existing sources.
Our proposal for the residence includes a mix of buildings which both the client and the architect have found inspiring from the early middle ages across southern Europe. The result is a home that evokes the traditions of northern Spain through materials, covered outdoor arcades and its masculine tower and subtle detailing of the southwest style, while in fact being an original style for the Dillon home as shown in the following design studies.
Currently, this project is still in its early phases. Please return in a few weeks to see further developments of the design.
