Elk Ridge Lodge will be designed to be a part of the ridge and the surrounding site. This residence’s design is based on a number of principals- quality, durability, site views and a “lodgey” aesthetic. Understanding the building’s height and how it will be prominent on this ridge, we are striving to be nestled on this site with architecture armature and landscaping to help the residence “tuck back in”. To achieve the “nestled in” effect we will place aspens, red twig dogwoods and Engelmann spruce that will frame each side of the home and allow the stair stepping roof forms to blend into the site. As we design, we take into account the client and builder’s input, and also imagine as if we were the first guests to be a part of the experience of visiting this home. |
