A facility was designed to slightly rise up out of the prairie but with certain architectural detailing the structure would almost look like a small hill on the horizon. Long sloping roof lines which will be covered in indigenous prairie sod, natural light sky lights along the ridge will bring immense diffuse light into the interior portions of the structure. There will be architectural sky lights that rise up to create a rhythm and strategically place light where needed. The structure will have 8' deep overhung roofs in most locations and most walls will be rammed earth from the site. The mechanical systems will employ the wind for a cooling stack and geothermal will be implemented for the in floor heat when required.
The facility will be programmed with office space, a great hall, class rooms, restaurant and dining for interior and exterior. A number of exterior meeting spaces will be created as well with rammed earth walls surrounding and lattia scaffolding for shading.
